Procedure to find out WWN information from ILO:
Log on to ILO and open remote console. Reboot the box by clicking ctrl-alt-del tab as marked in the screen shot.
Press F11 when you see the below screen followed by any key to view option ROM Messages
Keep pressing Ctrl+e when you see below screen to enter Emulex BIOS Utility.
You will get the below screen where you can enter the choice either 1 or 2 to get WWN details of the server.
In this case choice 1 has been selected and below are the WWN details.
Installing ESX 4.0
1. Map the ISO (ESX OS and boot the server from CD)
- Select the Mode of installation (Graphical /text) and hit enter
- Click on Next
- Select the license agreement and click on next
- Select the Keyboard layout US English and click on next
- Select No and click on next, a warning message will popup say yes to that
- Click on Next to continue
- If you have the authorized serial Key enter it else select enter a serial number later option and click on next
- Automatically detects the network card, if you have the VLAN ID for the server enter it else leave it blank so that can enter it later with in OS
- Enter the static IP and subnet details and click on Next
- Select standard setup if you are not sure with the partition details, most of our servers are selected with standard setup which automatically takes the partition size
- Select the volume and Click on next
- Enter the host name and click on next
- Detailed summary page will appear, verify it and click on next for installation to complete
- Click on finish and server will reboot with OS.
