In order to change the default directory for any new user profiles on
a Windows 2008 system, you can modify the following registry setting:
You can go into the registry and to the "ProfileList" key and change the value to what you want. Concurrently, if you have other profile data that you want to move as well, you will have to modify the subkey's "ProfileImagePath" key and then move the content over.
Default System Drive (or %SystemDrive%) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList] "ProfilesDirectory" =hex( 2 ): 25 , 00 , 53 , 00 , 79 , 00 , 73 , 00 , 74 , 00 , 65 , 00 ,6d, 00 , 44 , 00 , 72 ,\ 00 , 69 , 00 , 76 , 00 , 65 , 00 , 25 , 00 ,5c, 00 , 55 , 00 , 73 , 00 , 65 , 00 , 72 , 00 , 73 , 00 , 00 , 00 Changes to (E:\Users)...
