This document is a work in progress. It will attempt to address the major changes in Red Hat's RHEL 7 OS, currently in BETA.
https://access.redhat.com/site/solutions/291283 There is currently no scheduled release date.
RHEL 7 is based on Fedora 19. Only x86_64 (64bit support will be offered with i686 32bit binaries)
Some of the major changes for RHEL 7 are
systemd replaces init . The chkconfig and service commands will be replaced by the command systemctl.
The journald process is a service that runs from systemd. Complete host boot/shutdown logging is now possible. (rsyslog would miss complete boot messages)
XFS replaces ext4 as the default filesystem.
Grub is replaced by Grub2
