Publishing Application in Xenapp6.5 or Citirix
9:00 PM- Login to XenApp Server
- Open Delivery Services Console
- Expand the farm node in the task pane.
- Right-click Applications,
- Click Publish application to start the Publish Application wizard and then click Next.
- Type Microsoft Word in the Display Name field.
- Leave the Application Description field blank and click Next.
- Configure the Microsoft Word application to be accessed from the server and specify the application's command line location as “C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office \winword.exe.” or Browse and select the path of the winword exe file
- Verify that Application and Accessed from a server are selected and clickNext.
- Publish Microsoft Word to the Microsoft Word worker group.
- Click Add and double-click Worker Groups.
- Click OK to select the worker group and then click Next.
- Provide the CTXGroup1 group ( Created in AD) and Citrix Admin account with access to the application.
- Click Add to bring up the Select Users or Groups screen.
- Click Add List of Names and type domainname\ctxgroup1.
- Click Check Names and click OK, if the name was validated successfully.
- Click OK to close the Add List of Names window and click OK.
- Click Next to proceed to the Shortcut presentation screen.
- Place the application in a folder called Microsoft Office and complete the wizard using the default values.
- Type Microsoft Word in the Client application folder field and click Next.
- Click Finish to complete the Publish Application wizard
- Open Delivery Services Console
- Right-click Applications
- Click Publish application to start the Publish Application wizard and then click Next.
- Use Notepad as the name of the published application
- Type Notepad in the Display Name field.
- Type Published for testing only in the Application Description field and clickNext.
- Set the Notepad application to be accessed from the server and specify the application's command line location as C:\Windows\System32\Notepad.exe.
- Verify that Application and Access from a server are selected and click Next.
- Click the Browse button next to the Command Line field.
- Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Notepad.exe, click Open and then clickNext.
- Publish Notepad to the All Servers worker group.
- Click Add and double-click Worker Groups.
- Double-click All Servers.
- Click OK to select the worker group and click Next.
- Give the CTXGroup2 access to the Notepad application.
- Click Add to bring up the Select Users or Groups screen.
- Click Add List of Names and type domainname\ctxgroup2.
- Click Check Names and click OK, if the name was validated successfully.
- Click OK to close the Add List of Names window and click OK.
- Click Next to proceed to the Shortcut presentation screen.
- Complete the Publish Application wizard using the default values.
- Click Next in the Shortcut presentation screen.
- Click Finish to complete the Publish Application wizard.
- Open Delivery Services Console
- Right-click Applications
- Right-click Applications and select Publish application.
- Click Next.
- Use XenAppServer Desktop as the name, do not specify a description and use Server desktop as the type of application to publish.
- Type XenAppServer Desktop in the Display name field.
- Leave the application description blank and click Next.
- Select Server desktop and click Next.
- Publish the server desktop of the XenAppserver 1
- Click Add to open the Select Servers screen.
- Double-click XenApp server to select it as the server to publish and click OK.
- Click Next.
- Publish the server desktop to the domainname\ctxgroup1 group only.
- Click Add to open the Select Users or Groups screen.
- Click Finish to complete the Publish Application wizard.
- Close the Delivery Services Console.
