Testing the Shadowing Policy in Citrix XenApp 6.5

    Use the following procedure to verify that the Shadowing policy allows the domain \CitrixAdmin account to successfully shadow a user session:
    1. Use the Citrix XenApp Center on the XenAppServer machine to viewthe active sessions in the farm.
    2. Click Servers in the XenApp Center to view server information.
    3. Click the Users tab to view the current ICA sessions on the servers.
    4. An entry appears showing the citrix user account is currently connected to the Notepadapplication.Shadow the TestAdvisor's session from the XenApp Center using yourdomain\CitrixAdmin credentials.
    5. Right-click the TestAdvisor session and click Shadow to initiate a Shadow request.
    6. Click OK to begin the shadowing session.

      In a few moments the shadowing session will begin but will be paused until the shadoweduser accepts the request. This request will time out after a few seconds.
    7. Type the domain\CitrixAdmin credentials to log on to the shadowing session.
    8. Accept the shadowing request on the win 7 machine and then switchback to the XenApp server machine.
    9. Click Yes in the Remote Control Request dialog.The Shadowing indicator box appears in the upper left corner indicating that the session is currently being shadowed.
    10. Switch to the XenAppServervirtual machine.
    11. Type "Hello World!" in the shadowed Notepad application and verify that the message isreflected on the win 7 machine.
    12. Type Hello World! within the shadowed Notepad session.
    13. Switch to the XenAppServerand verify that the Hello World message is reflected inthe Notepad application.
    14. Stop the shadowing session and log off the session from the win 7 Machine.
    15. Click Stop shadowing on the window 7 virtual machine to end the shadowingof the session.
    16. Click Start > Logoff to log the citrixuser off the XenAppServer machine.
    17. Use the XenApp Center on the XenAppServermachine to reset all usersessions.
    18. Switch to the XenAppServermachine and bring the XenAppCenterto the front.
    19. Right-click the citrix user session and click Reset. Click Yes to confirm
